Permit for residence

Foreigners visiting the Republic of Uzbekisatan on a basis of tourist visa have 72 hours to complete the registration. If the visit is less than 72 hours - registration is not obligatory. Herewith, if the visitor have stayed in a hotel, he/she should get the registration card from the administration of the hotel to prove the stay at the given place.

Citizens of foreign countries visiting Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of business visa, have a right to reside in hotels or in dwelling houses. In case of residence in dwelling house, foreign citizen should be registered in The District Police Department (RUVD) and should receive a registration stamp on the passport. For this, a foreign citizen should have the following documents:

1.      Passport of a foreign citizen

2.      Passport of a dwelling house owner

3.      Sales and Purchase Contract for a dwelling house

4.      Property Registration Bureau certificate (BTI) of a dwelling house

5.      Passport of a person responsible for provision, transportation and formation of the documents.     

   Organization, receiving a foreign citizen issues an Inquiry Letter to the Head of The District Police Department (RUVD) and the Authorization Letter for the person responsible for provision, transportation and formation of the documents. All the documents listed above should be delivered to The District Police Department as soon as possible. Registration permission is issued within 3 days by The District Police Department.        

   Citizens of the foreign countries who do not pass registration process in The District Police Department on time are brought to administrative responsibility according to the legislation of Republic of Uzbekistan.
